Iterative user testing for leading publisher

Bloomsbury Publishing

Bloomsbury, the world-renowned book publisher, hold a special place in our heart as they were our very first client. The publishing giant asked us to look at two online bookshops – Bloomsbury and AC Black – to investigate their low conversion rates.

We ran a thorough lab-based user testing programme on both sites and provided Bloomsbury with a comprehensive report of our observations and recommendations for improving the user experience and, ultimately, sales.

Next, we put our money where our mouth is: we produced a highly interactive prototype that closely mimicked a real online shop and displayed how our recommendations should be implemented. We then conducted another round of lab-based user testing and saw a marked improvement in its performance.
